New for November

Roll the Calls- Ari Emanuel
If you watched Entourage in the 2000's- this is Ari Gold IRL. He is incredibly annoying and angry most of his waking hours, but he tells a great story of LA, talent, agents, power, and money. It's all about money. What a wretched place to live. But a rollicking and entertaining read.

Agrippa- Robert Harris
Harris always delivers a stunning story and this is no exception. Agrippa was the muscle to Augustus and fought massive wars for the Roman Republic, transforming it into the Empire, but he is also credited for much of the aqueduct system that supplied Rome. A dense but satisfying read.

Stitched- Eli McCann
Sleeper hit! This book is fun, warm-hearted and a delight as an Audible. A quilting group in Utah labors over an entry to a big competition. But the underlying threads are friendship, acceptance, honesty, and committment.
Don't miss this little gem.

The Tailor-Tim Sullivan
My love for British mystery novels never wanes. I thoroughly enjoy the DS George Cross character of this series. A great choice for escapist reading.

Our Noble Selves-Kate Atkinson
It is hard for me to turn a blind eye to any Kate Atkinson book. This one is set in 1953 as Britain mounts a Festival to highlight British recovery post WW II.
There are still some nefarious characters lurking about. Excellent combination of British intrigue and humor.
The Storyteller of Casablanca- Fiona Valpy. A young French girl flees to Morocco with her family in the early days of WW II. Her journal is discovered decades later. Have tissues for the ending.
Children of Wolves- Lawrence Osborne. Privileged young adults turn rebellious in Turkey while they squander their inheritance. Shades of The Talented Mr. Ripley when a PI comes to find one errant daughter.
