His latest novel is a distinct change from his recent work, but no less compelling. Carney, our protagonist, is the owner of a furniture business in Harlem in the 1960's. His life as a businessman, father, husband and fence for his cousin Freddie provides the structure for an atmospheric look at NYC of that time. Whitehead never disappoints. A+











Embassy Wife by Katie Crouch


Loved this book! Hope to read more by Katie Crouch. This is a witty, pointed look at ex-pats and locals in Namibia. Crouch lived there so her observations are experiential. A+
















Though Grossberg was tutoring the offspring of the uber wealthy, her cautionary tale is relevant to all parents. Don't make everything in life so easy for the kids. The details are astonishing. A
