Replaceable You by Mary Roach An entertaining and edifying book of the science of body part replacement. Roach is the premier science writer for the populace and all of her books are accessible, humorous, and easy to understand. Great for middle schoolers and up who are interested in biology, medicine, and science. If you are offended by the actual names and functions of body parts, this probably isn't for you. I would have loved this as a kid! This Is Where the Serpent Live

Warm up with a good book.

The Spinach King by John Seabrook. The story of a frozen food dynasty and how subsequent generations squandered the wealth. In the vein of Cheerful Money by Tad Friend, also a New Yorker writer. She has been savvy and she has been ill-advised at times. But she is tenacious and incredibly hard working. She was not the bump

Books for cold days and long trips.

The Fort Bragg Cartel - Seth Harp This book was astonishing. First, Harp outlines the US involvement in the Middle East in a stripped down timeline. But the main story is the massive amount of drug use and trafficking in the military, and in particular, the elite forces. The coverup by law enforcement is deplorable. I consider this to be a must-read. The Predicament - William Boyd This is the second book featuring Gabriel Dax- travel writer /reluctant spy. He is a John Smile
